Its a marked difference. The way my folders were organized in pine, for the stay at IITK and the way they are organized in GMail, for the life post-IITK. There were so many finer distinctions, which have disappeared. Different folders for mails from people of different batches, for close friends, not-so-close friends, mere acquaintances and strangers, for courses and btp, for mails of interest sent to all/students/UGs, related to GH and to the department - all have merged into one thing now - IITK. Granularity of life@IITK is decreasing - or has already decreased.
