You!

You are those words to me
Which you had sometime written,
You are those sounds to me
Which I have heard quite often
Sometimes actually
But mostly in imagination,
And hence to see you as a reality
Puts me in some confusion.
I hardly know what to say
And what to expect from you
And wonder if you ever
Feel the same for me too.
When the dreams and realities
Mix up with each other
When play together in one's mind
Tids of hope and bits of fear.
Then results the situation with which
My mind presently can identify
This is the mirror of my situation
And yes, mirrors do not lie.

A nice poem , I think indicating the cyber friends ,Who are near but not near , far but not far real but imaginary.
Really this cyberworld is paving path for new dimensional of psychological reseach.

Oh! I didn't think of this interpretation while writing it at all. Somehow despite being an e-mail and Internet addict, online friendship does not attract me much.

But now that I read it, I can see that your interpretation is as obvious from the wordings of this poem as the intended one was. Thanks for adding that perspective

Gravatar Your poem "Future" is also nice one.Well, have you ever gone through the works of J.Krishnamurti? Read him and probably you will Add to your knowledge and richness that you have. You may also search the net for some of his excerpts.I feel ,one will always feel thirsty and incomplete unless one has felt and tasted the infinite, but how to feel and be enveloped by that love which never leaves us and makes us complete?Perhaps it is better to love God (Where is He(She)?).One can be in love with God in any form in any way -'Cos God is embodiment of everything that we as humans are incapable of doing ,achieving or getting. But that is too abstract perhaps.Let'us live in present as you have so beautifully written in your poem "Future".Life is a journey and one has to live day by day ,moment by moment. This is what great ones say.How to deal with uncertainty, aniticipation ,failure and that crying need for security and love? ..........

Chaitanya: Thanks a lot for appreciating the poems. You have put some tough questions - I hardly have an answer. And probably this attitude of living in the present moment is a way to cope with that uncertainty. But anyway, there isn't much point explaining what poems want to say - they are best left for the interpretations of the reader. After all if they could be explained, a poetry would not have been needed at all. I am amazed at the kind of interpretations people can have and mostly valid ones, given the words of the poetry!

And yeah, the trick to post a longer comment here is to divide it into two or more comments.

Think twice! that is what I recalled when I started writing a comment on this poem. Articles (and poems) on imagery and surrealism have almost always found me deciphering something wrong (How do I know? my performance in literature reveals so!). Probably, these poems are addressed to the right brain that I don't seem to have! Poor me!
The intent of a poem left for the interpretations of readers can find a reader like me too :D
