At some other place, I had addressed the issue of apparent contradictions in the writings by the same person. Of course, I was talking about the specific case of my writings, but have a feeling that it could apply to lot many other people.

The explanation of contradictions there was change. Things change, lives change, people change, circumstances change and writings reflect that.

But there could be something else too. Talking specifically of poetry, many a times they represent a moment. Now this moment could be something that would mean a lot to you for the rest of your life, or it could be something which would mean nothing the very next moment. And yet, you might end up thniking something right then and writing it out too. Probably it will take the shape of poetry and it can not be explained later. The moments in life could be contradictory to each other without really affecting the broad philosophy of your life. Ultimately what would matter is the whole life, but fortunately or unfortunately what we live are moments!!
