Life has its own ways of teaching us. Probably there was no other way I could have understood the importance of name resolution in lives of networked people. For some weird reason my machine stopped resolving the names and do not ask me what tough time I had when I had to find out the IPs of mail/news/proxy servers as well as all the machines I wanted to access. I also had to figure out the ip of the website of department because it was to accessed with "No Proxy" and hence proxy could not relied upon to resolve the name for me!

In short, DNS is GOD!!! (You can praise other ways of resolution, but I will stick with DNS)
